For a limited time, guests can enjoy a private exhibition of eleven paintings by acclaimed Mayne Island artist, Terrill Welch. These works are displayed throughout the bed and breakfast to enrich the stay of our visitors. In recent months we've welcomed travelers from South Africa, Germany, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, China, several US states, Canadian provinces and many regions across British Columbia. Featuring Terrill’s art is our way of offering an experience that reflects the unique character and creative spirit of Mayne Island.
Terrill Welch is known for her luminous and expressive landscape paintings. Her work is rooted in the sandstone shores, arbutus trees and shifting skies of the Southern Gulf Islands.

Born in Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Terrill developed as an artist through early training and later through European style mentoring. She is recognized both locally and internationally for paintings that explore the deep connections between land, sea, sky and the human experience. Her collectors include art lovers from Canada, the United States, England, Australia, Norway and Switzerland.
Guests of The Grove B&B can view eleven of her paintings as part of this temporary exhibition. You can see the eleven works online through a private viewing room on Artwork Archive.

Each piece brings the island’s atmosphere into the rooms at The Grove. Terrill’s brushwork has a way of capturing the warmth of sunlight on sandstone, the texture of weathered trunks and the movement of the Salish Sea.
Having these paintings on site allows visitors to deepen their connection to the place they're exploring. Many guests have shared that the art adds comfort, calm and a sense of discovery to their stay.

We encourage guests who enjoy the exhibition to learn more about Terrill’s work on her website.
We're grateful to Terrill Welch for sharing her work with us. The Grove has always been a place for rest and reflection, and this partnership enriches that experience. Whether you are staying with us for the first time or returning to Mayne Island once again, we hope the presence of these paintings adds something memorable to your visit.
